It’s official, another Ghostbusters movie is in development.

The film – to be directed by Jason Reitman – will be a sequel to Ghostbusters (1984) & Ghostbusters II (1989) and will not be connected to the recent reboot. The tentatively titled Ghostbusters III is currently scheduled for a summer 2020 release.

Want to see a teaser?

Sure you do!

Well, you’re in luck – Reitman – son of original GB director, Ivan Reitman – has already shot a teaser!

Releasing the short trailer on social media, Reitman, said: “Everybody can relax, I found the car. #GB20”

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Reitman, said:

“I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans.”

He added: “This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”

The screenplay for the new Ghostbusters movie is co-written by Reitman and Monster House filmmaker Gil Kenan. No details yet on who will star or whether or not any of the original actors will feature, but I’ll keep you updated as and when more news arrives.
