Screen actor, Burt Reynolds has passed away.
The actor – known for his roles in Smokey and the Bandit (1977) and The Cannonball Run (1981) – has died at the age of 82. According to the BBC, Reynolds passed away in a Florida hospital from a heart attack. His family were by his side at the time.
Since news broke of Reynolds’ passing, many stars have paid tributes to the actor, including Arnold Schwarzenegger. Taking to social media, the Terminator actor, said: “Burt Reynolds was one of my heroes. He was a trailblazer. He showed the way to transition from being an athlete to being the highest paid actor, and he always inspired me. He also had a great sense of humour – check out his Tonight Show clips. My thoughts are with his family.”
Dolly Parton, who starred with Reynolds in 1982’s The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, said: “Oh how sad I am today along with Burt’s millions of fans around the world as we mourn one of our favourite leading men. I know we will always remember his funny laugh, that mischievous sparkle in his eyes, and his quirky sense of humour. You will always be my favourite sheriff, rest in peace my little buddy. I will always love you, Dolly.”
