What a confusing couple of days it’s been.

On Wednesday, Collider reported that Lucasfilm had cancelled all its Star Wars standalone movies.

On Thursday, ABC News suggested that Lucasfilm may not have cancelled its films and that a few additional Star Wars movies – other than those already announced – were still in the pipeline.

Today, The Hollywood Reporter is now suggesting that nothing has been cancelled at all, Lucasfilm are now simply looking for a new way to make their standalone movies work better.

According to THR, a source said: “It doesn’t mean those spinoffs don’t happen, it just means they’re trying to figure out how to make, and market, them differently.”

Moving forward, if this report is to be believed, Lucasfilm will look to approach the standalone movies in a new way and may reduce the budgets accordingly, to off-set any potential losses.

So, there’s still hope for the Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi movies, although we may not see these for some time yet.
