All Star Wars spin-off/solo movies are on hold.
According to Collider, Lucasfilm has shelved plans to produce anymore standalone Star Wars movies, due to the less-than-impressive response to Solo: A Star Wars Story. Lucasfilm will now concentrate all attention on Episode IX as well as the proposed trilogy to follow.
So, that’s the oft-rumoured Obi-Wan Kenobi movie (which apparently was in development) and the James Mangold directed Boba Fett film. A sequel to this year’s Solo is also not going to happen.
I’m just gonna put this out there – BUGGER.
I know that not everyone was on board with Solo, but that movie teased a couple of things that I wanted to see play out. More importantly, I REALLY wanted to see the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie.
Presumably, this now means we will be going back to seeing a new Star Wars movie every couple of years instead of every year. Damn it!
