Remember that reboot of The Crow that was on/off/on/off and then back on again?
Well… it’s off again!
According to Deadline, the movie – a new take on the classic comic book by James O’Barr – has lost its director, as well as its star and its distributor.
Why?
Creative differences with Samuel Hadida, the man behind Davis Films (the financier of the movie). According to the report, Sony Pictures had yet to finalise a deal with Hadida and due to the uncertainty surrounding the deal it appears that both director Corin Hardy and star Jason Momoa walked away.
Production was due to start on the picture within the next five weeks.
So, what will happen next?
Well, either a new director, lead actor and distributor is found pretty sharpish or it’s back to the drawing board (again).
To date there have been four movies based on The Crow: The Crow (1994), The Crow: City of Angels (1996), The Crow: Salvation (2000) and The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005). A TV series, The Crow: Stairway to Heaven aired between 1998 and 1999.
A reboot of the franchise has been in the works for A LONG TIME.
