Paramount Pictures and Hasbro have found a director for the forthcoming M.A.S.K. movie.
What do you mean, you didn’t know Paramount Pictures and Hasbro were working on a M.A.S.K. movie? Well, they are!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fate of the Furious director, F. Gary Gray is to helm the project, which is based on the 1980s toy line and cartoon series. A release date for the movie has yet to be set.
Created by Kenner in 1985, M.A.S.K. was a fairly successful toy line which revolved around two factions: M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armoured Strike Kommand) and V.E.N.O.M (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem). The toys were accompanied by a TV show which ran for two seasons and comprised 75 episodes.
M.A.S.K. is just one of a number of toy lines that Paramount and Hasbro are eyeing for the big screen as part of a shared universe approach to its properties. Expect more from Transformers and G.I. Joe, as well as Visionaries and Micronauts.
