Fox is currently working on a Silver Surfer movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twentieth Century Fox is developing a Silver Surfer movie, with comics scribe, Brian K. Vaughn on board as the writer. The project – like a number of Fox’s Marvel movies – is a top priority for the studio. An unnamed executive on the project has reportedly said: “We are going 100 miles per hour.”

Now at this point, you might be asking the question, ‘why?’. With Disney currently in talks to take over control of Fox, why is the studio still keen to push forward with projects such as this one?

Well, as I’ve discussed previously on the blog, until the Disney deal is signed and sealed, Fox continues to operate as usual, which is why there are still plans for lots more X-Men films.

Will this Silver Surfer movie ever see the light of day? Er…. it’s possible – it really depends on the outcome of the Disney deal.

It should be noted that this isn’t the first time Fox has worked on a Silver Surfer movie; back in 2007, following the release of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, the studio also tried to get a solo Surfer movie off the ground. Of course, that didn’t happen, but it has never deterred the studio from pushing forward regardless.

I’ll keep you posted, as soon as more details emerge.
