Were you a fan of Image Comics’ long defunct take on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Bummed that the series never really got a proper conclusion?

Well, if you answered yes to both of those questions, then prepare to be very happy. Very happy indeed.

According to io9, IDW – the current keepers of the Turtles comic book flame – is to reprint Image Comics’ entire run of TMNT comics! What’s more, the publisher will also print three BRAND NEW issues, which will provide the series with a proper conclusion.

And who is writing/illustrating these issues, I hear you say?

Why, only Gary Carlson and artist Frank Fosco – the book’s original creative team!

The book will run under the title of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Urban Legends and will comprise the 23 original issues, plus the three newbies. io9 has a heap of information on this new development for IDW (and the Turtles), including an interview with Carlson and Fosco, so be sure to check it out.

Before you rush off, what do you think about this news? It’s pretty neat, right? Going back and finishing off a project that got abruptly cancelled offers up hope for similar projects, right? Who knows where this all might lead.
