In 1992, X-Men: The Animated Series made its debut. The comic book cartoon, based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name, followed the story of a team of mutants who fight for equality in a world that hates and fears them.
Upon making its debut, X-Men: The Animated Series was deemed a hit with audiences and quickly became appointment television. Critics loved the compelling writing and excellent character work, while fans appreciated the care that was taken to ensure the X-Men mythology was presented in a respectful and entertaining way.
One of the key aspects of X-Men: The Animated Series was its cast of heroes, including the likes of Storm, Gambit, and Jean Grey. And one of most notable mutant heroes in the show was Morph, who appeared in a small selection of episodes across the series.
When X-Men: The Animated Series debuted, Morph was a member of the X-Men, but he was written out of the series following his apparent death within the first two episodes of the show. However, he soon returned, making sporadic appearances in the series, furthering his story in the process.

Night of the Sentinels – Part One
Morph made his debut in Night of the Sentinels – Part One. In this episode, Jubilee is introduced to the X-Men, where she meets Wolverine, Gambit, Morph, and the rest of the team.
However, mutant hunting robots known as the Sentinels are on her trail and are proving a credible threat to all mutant kind. Determined to protect other mutants, the X-Men head to the headquarters of the Mutant Control Agency to destroy all the data on file and ensure the Sentinels have no intel to work from.
Night of the Sentinels – Part Two
Continuing the story in Night of the Sentinels – Part Two, the X-Men succeed in destroying the Mutant Control Agency’s files. But just as the team make their escape, disaster strikes.
While battling Sentinels, Morph is seemingly killed and Beast is captured and imprisoned. Facing the possibility of further losses, the team are forced to retreat, with Wolverine devastated that Morph and Beast were left behind.
Till Death Do Us Part – Part One
In Till Death Do Us Part – Part One, Cyclops and Jean Grey get married. But what should be a joyous occasion is nothing of the kind.
Morph has seemingly returned from the grave and under the watchful eye and control of Mister Sinister, he is hellbent on revenge. Morph believes the X-Men left him to die.
Till Death Do Us Part – Part Two
Continuing the story in Till Death Do Us Part – Part Two, Morph has successfully managed to cause significant disruption to the X-Men, putting Storm in the hospital as a result. Meanwhile, Cyclops and Jean are at the mercy of Mister Sinister.
Reunion – Part One
In Reunion – Part One, Professor Xavier and Magneto, are captured by Mister Sinister and held in the Savage Land. Meanwhile, the X-Men are on the trail of Morph, who could be the key to the missing mutants’ whereabouts.
Reunion – Part Two
Continuing the story in Reunion – Part Two, the X-Men travel to the Savage Land to mount a rescue. But when the team arrive they discover their powers have been temporarily removed, giving Mister Sinister the upper hand.
With the X-Men facing their darkest hour, could Morph turn the tide by standing against Sinister to reunite with his former teammates?
Courage
After time away from the team to recover from his past trauma, Morph returns to the X-Men in Courage. But when an old enemy poses a threat to the team, can Morph overcome his demons to finally move forward with his life?
