In 1992, Batman: The Animated Series made its debut. The cartoon show, based on the DC Comics character of the same name, followed the story of Batman and his ongoing battle for justice in Gotham City.
Upon making its debut, the series was deemed a hit with audiences and quickly became must-see television. Critics loved the smart writing, excellent plotting, and fantastic animation, while fans appreciated the care that was taken to ensure the Batman mythology was presented in a respectful and entertaining way.
One of the stand-out aspects of Batman: The Animated Series was its cast of villainous characters. One of these rogues was the icy-cold, Mr. Freeze aka Dr. Victor Fries, who appeared in the series multiple times.

Below is a list of every episode of Batman: The Animated Series featuring Mr. Freeze/Dr. Victor Fries. As you can see, while Freeze was an iconic (and fan-favourite) character, he only appeared in a few episodes.
In total, Mr. Freeze/Dr. Victor Fries appeared three times:
Heart of Ice
In Heart of Ice, a new villain is in Gotham City causing cold-related crime wave. As Batman investigates, he discovers this new villain, named Mr. Freeze, was once brilliant scientist Dr. Victor Fries.
Prior to his criminal career, Fries was working on a cure for his wife, who was suffering from a life-threatening illness. However, when the plug was pulled on his research, his wife appeared to perish and Fries was transformed into the cold-hearted villain, Mr. Freeze.
Deep Freeze
In Deep Freeze, aging theme park mogul, Grant Walker breaks Mr. Freeze out of prison and presents him with a tempting offer. Walker is aware of Mr. Freeze’s condition, which makes him age differently to regular people, and wants to undergo a similar process to give him immortality.
If Freeze agrees, Walker will revive Freeze’s wife, who did not die as previously believed. Although Freeze is reluctant to say yes to Walker’s offer, with his wife’s life at stake he simply can’t say no.
Cold Comfort
In Cold Comfort, Mr. Freeze returns with a whole new motivation. Unable to find happiness, he decides everyone else in Gotham should suffer with him.

Batman Subzero (1998)
In addition to his television appearances, Mr. Freeze also featured in the Batman: The Animated Series spin-off movie, Batman: Subzero (1998). In this movie, Freeze continues to search for a cure for his wife, leading him to kidnap Barbara Gordon who could be the key to his problem.
