During his life-time, author Theodor Seuss Geisel wrote and illustrated more than 60 books under his pen name, Dr. Seuss. His books, including the likes of The Cat in the Hat, The Sneetches, and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, are considered stone-cold classics and are still adored by children to this day.
Over the years, many of Dr. Seuss’ stories have been adapted for different media, with some stories being turned into big screen adventures. But how many Dr. Seuss movies are there?
In this post, I am presenting a list of all the Dr. Seuss movies. This list provides a rundown of the films, along with some additional details.

The cartoons/shorts/specials

Before getting onto the movies, please note that multiple Dr. Seuss stories have been adapted into animated shorts and television shows. The first of these shorts was the 1942 Warner Bros. cartoon, Horton Hatches the Egg, while TV shows have included The Gerald McBoing-Boing Show and Green Eggs and Ham.
In addition to the shorts and shows, the work of Dr. Seuss has also inspired multiple television specials, most notably How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966) and Halloween is Grinch Night (1977). These TV specials tend to run to 25 minutes in length, so are not considered to be feature-length movies.
OK, onto the films…
