This May, mystery comedy, The Sheep Detectives arrives in cinemas. Directed by Kyle Balda (The Lorax, Despicable Me 3, etc), the movie stars Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Milly Gordon, and Emma Thompson, and centres its story around a flock of sheep who set out to solve a murder mystery.

Describing the movie, Amazon MGM Studios said: “In this witty, new breed of mystery, George (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every night, assuming they can’t possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realise they must become the detectives.

“As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.”

With Hugh Jackman on board, and a collection of comedic sheep taking on a great deal of the leg-work in the movie, The Sheep Detectives is being lined up as one of the big releases of the summer. The quirky premise alone should bring in audiences, as well as those who are curious about the murder mystery plot line.

But when The Sheep Detectives arrives in cinemas, will it be suitable for everyone? More importantly, will it offer family-friendly viewing?
