Kathryn Newton’s first flush with horror movies came in 2012 with a lead role in the fourth entry in the Paranormal Activity film series, Paranormal Activity 4. Taking on the part of Alex Nelson, Newton sets up cameras in her house, after she and her boyfriend become convinced something strange and spooky is occurring at home. (88 mins)

Up next is Freaky – the black comedy slasher which involves body-swapping. In the film, Newton plays Millie Kessler, a high school teenager who unintentionally swaps bodies with serial killer, the Blissfield Butcher, as played by Vince Vaughn. (102 mins)

In ‘80s-set comedy horror, Lisa Frankenstein, Newton plays the role of Lisa Swallows, a misunderstood teenager who ends up with boy trouble. The boy in question is a deceased pianist from the 19th Century, played by Cole Sprouse, who is brought back to life as a zombie. (101 mins)

And finally, in horror sequel, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, Newton plays Faith MacCaullay, the sister of Grace MacCaullay – the sole survivor of a brutal ‘game’ where she was marked for death. In this follow-up film, Faith and Grace must work together to survive yet another ‘game’, where the winner is those who stay alive. (108 mins)
