Halloween with the New Addams Family (1977)

First up is the made-for-television movie, Halloween with the New Addams Family. The film acts as a continuation of the 1964 Addams Family television show, with many of the original cast members returning for this belated film.

As the title suggests, Halloween is the main subject of the movie, with the Addams Family planning a Halloween party. Meanwhile, thieves are aiming to break into the Addams’ home, in order to steal the family fortune. (74 mins)

The Addams Family (1991)

Following success on television, The Addams Family made the leap to the big screen in 1991 for their first theatrically released feature film. Simply titled The Addams Family, the movie was presented as a devilishly fun supernatural black comedy, which reintroduced the core characters for a new generation.

The plot of the film revolved around the return of Gomez’s long-lost brother, Fester, who had been missing for some time. However, Fester might not be all he appears to be, casting doubt on his legitimacy. (99 mins)

Addams Family Values (1993)

Following the critical and commercial success of The Addams Family, a sequel arrived two years later with the main cast returning. Titled Addams Family Values, this sequel – which many argue is better than its predecessor – focuses on the birth of Gomez and Morticia’s new baby, Pubert, as well as a plot to steal an inheritance. Addams Family Reunion (1998)

Five years after the theatrical release of Addams Family Values, another entry followed, but this one lacked the cast, status, or production values of the previous films. Titled Addams Family Reunion, this film acted as a spiritual sequel to the two ‘90s films, while also intending to be a pilot for a proposed television series… that never happened.
