In 1989, author R. L. Stine published teen horror novel, The New Girl. The book focused on high school student, Corey, and his crush on a mysterious new girl called Anna, who lives on Fear Street.

In the book, Cory falls in love with Anna, but when he starts looking into her background he is shocked to discover she doesn’t appear to exist. He then begins to question if Anna is real or if something more unsettling is taking place.

Released to a warm reception from young readers, The New Girl became the first entry in the Fear Street book series and was soon followed by another instalment, The Surprise Party. In this book, young Meg starts to receive eerie phone calls after she decides to throw a surprise party.

A third book titled The Overnight arrived shortly after, followed by MissingThe Wrong Number, and The Sleepwalker. Further books continued the series, building up a sizeable collection in the process.

Due to the success of the Fear Street books, R. L. Stine continued to expand the series, creating various spin-offs and mini collections along the way. This in turn made Fear Street into one of Stine’s biggest hits, and along with the Goosebumps books, established him as a leading author in telling twisted tales to terrorise teens.

But if you’re completely new to the Fear Street book series, or you stumbled onto the novels after watching one of the Fear Street movies, you may be asking how many books there are and what is the publishing order? Well, fear not, because all of the answers will follow momentarily.

Below is a list of all the Fear Street books from R. L. Stine. The books are divided into various different collections including the Original series, the Super Chiller series, the Cheerleaders series, the Fear Street SagaThe House of EvilThe Cataluna ChroniclesGhosts of Fear StreetFear ParkSagasNew Fear StreetFear Street SeniorsFear Street NightsA Fear Street Novel, and Return to Fear Street!
