In 1991, Australian actress, Toni Collette appeared in the comedy drama, Spotswood. Two years later, she provided voice duties for the children’s animated feature, The Thief and the Cobbler.

Neither of these roles did much for Collette’s career, and other than giving her the opportunity to get her foot in the door, the movies came and went. However, things soon changed in 1994, when the actress starred in the comedy-drama, Muriel’s Wedding.

Muriel’s Wedding followed the story of ABBA-obsessed, socially awkward young woman, Muriel Heslop, who dreams of one day having a glamorous wedding. Muriel eventually gets to fulfil that dream, but the reality is far removed from her fantasy, and she learns life is a bit different from what she imagined.

Collette took on the title role in Muriel’s Wedding and impressed both critics and audiences alike. The film went onto be a big hit, and this propelled Collette’s career much further along.

From here, Collette continued to impress audiences with roles in films such as The Sixth Sense, The Hours, and About a Boy. More movies followed, and Collette soon became recognised as one of the best actresses of her generation.

If you’re not familiar with Toni Collette’s back-catalogue of movies, don’t worry, you soon will be. Below is a list of all of Toni Collette’s films, starting from the beginning.
