In 1952, Steve McQueen made his film debut in the movie, Family Affair. From here he followed up his film acting work with uncredited appearances in movies such as Girl on the Run and Somebody Up There Likes Me

To begin with, his on-screen appearances were small roles, but soon his star status began to grow. This in turn increased his presence on the big screen, and propelled his career forward.

Over the years, Steve McQueen starred in films such as The BlobThe Thomas Crown Affair, and The Towering Inferno. He also took on the role of Hilts in The Great Escape.
