Ho, ho, holy heck, is it nearly the end of the year already? Jeez, how did that happen?

One minute we are all knee-deep in sun cream and multiple screenings of Barbie, and the next minute it’s Christmas! Sheer madness I tell you.

Anyway, since it is the festive season, with New Year just around the corner, it’s time to bring together all of the movie reviews from the last four months to round off 2023. I’ve already grouped together film reviews for January to April and May to August, so it would seem a little odd if I didn’t join up all of the reviews from September to December too.

And the period from September to December sure was an interesting one to say the least. The twin impact of the actors’ and writers’ strikes (which began during the summer), caused various wobbles to the release schedule resulting in less ‘big’ movies coming out during the back end of the year.

But irrespective of the reduction in movies, the final four months still offered up a heap of new pictures including The Nun IIA Haunting in VeniceDumb MoneyThe Exorcist BelieverThanksgivingSaltburn, The Marvels, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Meanwhile, physical media served up The Psycho Collection Limited Edition Blu-ray boxset, as well as titles for Billy Idol and Duran Duran, while streaming offered LeoChicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, and Quiz Lady.

Oh, and with fewer new movies coming out than usual, I found some time to revisit some older titles, including the entire run of the Jesse Stone film series, beginning with Stone Cold. I also celebrated the 35th anniversary of Scrooged and Die Hard, and covered re-releases of The Exorcist and Christine.

Should you wish to check out all of these reviews and much more, you’ll find 100 film reviews below. These reviews cover September through to December and are the final batch of film reviews for 2023, so click on the images and read away!
