The Phryne Fisher books by Kerry Greenwood in order

In 1989, Australian author Kerry Greenwood published the mystery-crime novel, Cocaine Blues. Set in the 1920s, the book followed the story of Miss Phryne Fisher, a wealthy aristocrat and private detective who solves mysteries.

A year after the release of Cocaine Blues, Kerry Greenwood continued the adventures of Phryne Fisher with the novel, Flying Too High. In this story, Phryne investigates a homicide and a kidnapping.

A third Phryne Fisher book followed in 1991, called Murder on the Ballarat Train. This was accompanied in 1992 by a fourth book titled Death at Victoria Dock, and in 1993 by a fifth, The Green Mill Murder.

With each new book, the Phryne Fisher series grew in popularity. For quite some time it continued to expand on an almost yearly basis, and it even inspired a popular television series starring Essie Davis.
