In 2012, cartoon fantasy show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, backflipped its way onto Nickelodeon. The animated series – based on the iconic comic book characters of the same name – followed the story of four teenage humanoid turtles, Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo, and their chaotic adventures in New York.

Upon making its debut, Turtles fans praised the characters and storylines in the show, while newcomers fell in love with the quirky nature of the series. As such, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles became a big hit with audiences and remained on air until 2017, clocking up five seasons, 124 episodes, and a spin-off television movie in the process.

But if you missed the series the first time around, or you haven’t checked it out in a while, then you are missing out on a classic. You also may not be aware of all the episodes that were produced, so could probably do with a handy episode list – just like the one set out below.

Movie

In addition to the series, in 2015 Nickelodeon aired a loosely connected spin-off movie, Half-Shell Heroes: Blast to the Past. This movie – which runs to approximately 45-minutes in length – was aimed at a younger age demographic to the series, to tie-in with a range of pre-school toys.

The movie utilises the same voice actors as the series, but it uses 2D flash animation rather than 3D. It is also not considered part of the cannon of the series – more of an added extra.

Should you wish to slot the movie into the series, the film originally aired shortly after the first four episodes of Season Three. However, as it is not designed to fit into the series, the movie is arguably best watched as a bonus bit of fun after the series has concluded.
