In 1999, direct-to-video low-budget slasher movie, Camp Blood, arrived on home video. The film – written and directed by Brad Sykes – focused on a summer camp terrorised by a machete-wielding killer in a clown mask.
Upon making its debut, Camp Blood was not well received by critics, who viewed it as just another generic slasher movie. However, the film proved popular enough on the home video market to warrant a sequel, and soon additional Camp Blood movies followed.
But how many Camp Blood movies are there? For all the details and more, keep reading.

Are all of the Camp Blood movies part of the same series?

All of the Camp Blood movies are technically part of the same series, but the numbering causes a bit of confusion – particularly with regard to the third entry.
Camp Blood (1999), Camp Blood 2 (2000), and Within the Woods (aka Camp Blood 3) (2005) were all directed by Brad Sykes. The first two entries were classed as ‘official’ films in the series, while the third film, Within the Woods, was an ‘unofficial’ entry.
Mark Polonia took over as director for the next entry, Camp Blood: First Slaughter (2014). Although this is the fourth entry on the list, it was the next ‘official’ film in the series after Camp Blood and Camp Blood 2 (effectively ignoring Within the Woods).
Dustin Ferguson directed Camp Blood 4 (2016) and Camp Blood 5 (2016), while Ted Moehring directed Camp Blood 666 (2016).
Mark Polonia returned to the series to direct It Kills: Camp Blood 7 (2017), as well as spin-off movie, The Ghost of Camp Blood (2018).
Dennis Devine directed Camp Blood 8: Revelations (2019), before Mark Polonia returned to the series once again for Children of Camp Blood (2020).
