In 1963, Carol Burnett made her film debut in the television movie, Calamity Jane. From here she followed up her film acting work with appearances in movies such as Who’s Been Sleeping in My Bed?, Li’l Abner, and Once Upon a Mattress.

To begin with, her on-screen roles in movies were small parts, but soon her star status began to grow as audiences took the actor to their hearts. This (along with her successful TV career) increased her presence on the big screen, and propelled her career toward the icon she would eventually become.
