Coming to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries later this summer is the brand-new romantic drama, Big Sky River. The movie – which stars Emmanuelle Vaugier and Kavan Smith – is based on a book by Linda Lael Miller, and tells the story of a country romance, between a sheriff and a young woman looking for a change in life.
The official blurb for Big Sky River (via Hallmark) reads as follows: “Looking to take a break from New York City and place some real distance between herself and her ex-husband, Tara Kendall books a summer rental in Parable, Montana. The small, rural town endeared itself to Tara as a young girl and she credits her time in Parable for her love of horses and horseback riding.
“Sheriff Boone Taylor has finally found his footing after losing the love of his life. Boone is kind to his new neighbour, but he can’t deny that there’s something very special about Tara and he’d like her to stay for more than just one summer.
“When Tara’s stepdaughter reaches out for help, the painful realities of real-life step on any dreams of life in the country. That is, unless Tara can take care of those she loves and herself, all at once.”
Playing the role of Tara in the new movie is actress Emmanuelle Vauguer, who has previously appeared in Mistresses, Two and a Half Men, and CSI: NY, amongst others. Meanwhile, playing the part of Boone is Kavan Smith, who has appeared in shows such as Smallville and When Calls the Heart, as well as movies including Mission to Mars, and Hallmark’s You Had Me at Aloha.
Big Sky River is from Sky Road Productions Ltd., and is produced by Charles Cooper, with Libby Beers, Patricia Clifford, Harvey Kahn, and Marnie Young on board as executive producers. The movie is directed by Peter Benson, from a script by J.B. White.
