Australian actor, Chris Hemsworth, is one of the most likeable actors in Hollywood. Thanks to his good nature, his humorous performances, and his positive attitude, he has built up a strong portfolio of motion pictures and a legion of fans too.

Hemsworth’s movies have ranged from comedies and action-adventure pictures to franchise films, and horror. He has appeared in a number of box-office hits, and has starred in such films as Ghostbusters and Thor.

In this post I am taking a look back at Hemsworth’s film portfolio with a rundown of all his movies. I will be going through his film career, decade-by-decade, to showcase all of the pictures he has starred in, dating back to the late 2000s.

Hemsworth’s began his acting career in the 2000s, initially through television shows, including Guinevere Jones, Neighbours, and Marshall Law. Most notably he did a three-year stint in the Aussie soap, Home and Away, and all of these shows gave him the opportunity to develop his acting skills.  

But it wasn’t until the tail-end of the ‘00s that he moved from the small screen onto the big screen, with a minor role in the movie, Star Trek. From here he had one other movie in the decade, but he was finally working on film.

Chris Hemsworth’s films throughout the 2000s were few, but they include:

  • A Perfect Getaway (2009)

Heading into the 2010s and this is where Hemsworth saw his profile shoot up into the stratosphere, thanks to a lead role in the Marvel Studios movie, Thor. Not only did this movie give the actor the opportunity to play a super hero, it also provided him with a role he could return to over the course of the decade, for multiple Thor sequels, as well as four Avengers movies.

Outside of Marvel movies, Hemsworth appeared in films such as Cabin in the Woods, Rush, and Snow White and the Huntsman. The actor also featured in the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, as well as in 2019’s Men in Black: International.

And finally, moving into the 2020s, and Hemsworth continues to appear in movies, including the action-thriller Extraction, and the Marvel movie, Thor: Love and Thunder. His films in the 2020s (so far) have included:

  • Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
  • Extraction 2 (2023)
