When teen LGBTQ+ drama, Heartstopper, landed on Netflix in 2022, the television show proved to be a huge hit with viewers. The story of Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson captured the hearts of millions of people all over the world, and made the show into one of the streaming service’s most successful debuts.

But I probably don’t need to tell you this, as chances are you’ve already watched Heartstopper five times over, and you’re currently reading up about lead actors Joe Locke and Kit Connor, ahead of viewing number six. Does that sound about right?

Well, let’s say you have watched Heartstopper multiple times, you’re in the Joe & Kit fan club, and you’ve devoured every blooper reel, backstage featurette, and cast interview currently available, where do you go next? You head to the original source material, of course!

Heartstopper didn’t just materialise out of thin air – the show is based on a series of graphic novels by author, Alice Oseman. Oseman has written a number of stories (including novellas and graphic novels), all set in the same universe, some of which feature Nick and Charlie.

The most notable of these stories are the Heartstopper graphic novels, which inspired the show. But other books such as Solitaire and Nick and Charlie, also feature characters Heartstopper viewers will be familiar with.

But let’s say you want to make the leap over to the literary world, to read the books, where the heck do you start? Is there a specific order to Alice Oseman’s books, or should you just dive in and take a chance on one of the stories?

Well, that’s where this post should come in handy. Below you will find a list of all of Alice Oseman’s books, presented in publishing order AND in chronological order.

The first list (see below) gives you the titles of all the books you may wish to seek out. The second list (also below) gives you a suggested reading order, which you might like to follow, in order to read the stories in chronological order.
