This year, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, one of the greatest movies of all time* (*it is, let’s not argue about it), reaches the ripe old age of 30. Directed by James Cameron, the movie stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick, and Edward Furlong, and whether you can believe it or not, made its debut waaaaay back in July 1991!

Now, unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 30 years, chances are you have watched Terminator 2 on more than one occasion, be it in the cinema, on TV, or via VHS, DVD, or Blu-ray. But have you watched the movie in the highest quality possible?

Well, now you can, because here in the UK, Terminator 2 is getting a 30th anniversary release in 4K Blu-ray from StudioCanal. And the release will be available in a couple of different options, to suit individual tastes.

The first option is the Terminator 2: Judgement Day Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD Steelbook.

This release includes three discs, all housed in a special steelbook, containing: The theatrical edition of the film (137mins), the special edition of the film (154mins), and the extended special edition of the film (156mins).

The set also includes a collection of special features including a 55-minute T2: Reprogramming The Terminator documentary, 2 feature commentaries, a vintage ‘making of’ featurette, 2 deleted scenes, and a set of trailers.

The second option is the Terminator 2: Judgement Day Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD Vinyl Edition.

This release includes the same three discs and special features as noted above, all housed in standard packaging rather than a steelbook.

The notable difference this time around is the inclusion of a T2 vinyl soundtrack and 12-inch lenticular picture. So, not only do you get the movie, you also get the film’s awesome soundtrack on vinyl too!

Both the Terminator 2: Steelbook edition and the Terminator 2: vinyl edition are available to pre-order from all good entertainment retailers, including Amazon UK.

The release date for each edition is currently set for 6th December 2021 – which is just in time for Christmas.

Hasta la vista, baby!
