Rise and Shine, Benedict Stone is heading to Hallmark this year.

The new movie is based on the book of the same name by Phaedra Patrick and tells the story of a married couple – Benedict and Emilia Stone – who become separated after a decade of trying (unsuccessfully) for a baby.

In the story, Benedict wants to reunite with his wife, following their separation, but things aren’t that simple. However, the arrival of his niece, who drops by for a visit, may be the key to getting his marriage back on track.

Rise and Shine, Benedict Stone is written by Melissa Salmons, and stars Tom Everett and Mía Maestro. Other cast members in the movie include Ella Ballentine, Matt Hamilton, Matthew James Dowden, and Quinten James as the young Benedict Stone.

As noted above, the movie is based on the book by Phaedra Patrick – an award-winning short story author who lives in Saddleworth in the UK. Patrick is the author behind such novels as The Secrets of Sunshine, The Library of Lost and Found, and The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper.

In a statement about the new film (via ET Online), Phaedra Patrick said: “Hallmark is so wonderful at creating enjoyable, heart-warming movies and I’m delighted they’re making one based on my novel.” She added: “I’m sure that viewers and readers alike will love it!”
