In 2009, the action-adventure movie, Solomon Kane opened in cinemas. The film was based on the popular pulp magazine character of the same name, created by Robert E. Howard.

Directed by M. J. Bassett, Solomon Kane followed Kane’s story as he sought redemption for past actions. James Purefoy played by the title role in the movie, while other members of the cast included Max von Sydow, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Mackenzie Crook, Alice Krige, Jason Flemyng, and Pete Postlethwaite.

If you have watched and enjoyed Solomon Kane, then you are no doubt wondering if there is a Solomon Kane 2. Well, unfortunately, while Solomon Kane was envisioned as the first entry in a movie trilogy, no follow-up movies were ever produced.

Despite fair reviews when it hit cinema screens in 2009, Solomon Kane underperformed at the box office quite significantly. The movie was produced on an estimated budget of around $40 million, but only managed to recoup $19.6 million, making it a box office flop.

Due to the significant shortfall in returns, all plans for future instalments of the Solomon Kane movie series were abandoned. As such there is no Solomon Kane 2 or Solomon Kane 3.

Moving beyond this, there are no other Solomon Kane movie. To date, there is only one Solomon Kane film – the 2009 entry – and no plans at present to take the character back to the big screen.

However, if you’re a fan of the movie, then you might like to know that Solomon Kane has appeared in books and a role-playing game, as well as a collection of audio dramas. The character has also featured in multiple comics, including a series of comics published by Marvel during the 1970s and 1980s.
