What is the order of the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies?

To date, there are six National Lampoon’s Vacation movies. The order of the movies is as follows:
- National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983)
- National Lampoon’s European Vacation (1985)
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)
- Vegas Vacation (1997)
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation 2 (2003)
- Vacation (2015)
In addition to the six movies, the series has also produced a 14-minute short called Hotel Hell Vacation. The short was created as part of an advertising campaign and aired during Super Bowl XLIV.

All of the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies are part of the same series, with each story revolving around the Griswold family. All of the movies were released theatrically with the exception of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation 2 (2003) which is a made-for-TV sequel.

National Lampoon’s is a brand name which appears above the title of various unrelated comedies (Class Reunion, Loaded Weapon 1, Van Wilder etc). The brand takes its name from the National Lampoon’s magazine, and has appeared above the title of a string of films beginning with 1978’s National Lampoon’s Animal House.
The reason Animal House and all of the other National Lampoon’s movies are absent from this post is because this post specifically focuses on the VACATION series. So, if the movies aren’t part of the Vacation series, then they are not the focus today.
