Ryan Reynolds has played the role of Wade Wilson/Deadpool for four movies: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018) and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). Reynolds appeared in a small supporting role in X-Men: Origins, before being elevated to lead star of Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Deadpool & Wolverine.

In addition to the movies listed above, in December 2018 20th Century Fox released a slightly altered edition of Deadpool 2 called Once Upon a Deadpool. This version of the movie was edited for language to reduce the movie’s original ‘R’ rating down to PG-13.

While Once Upon a Deadpool does include some new material featuring the actor Fred Savage, in essence it is the same story as Deadpool 2.
