Following a hugely successful run on BBC Three – the BBC’s online streaming service – the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is to air on BBC One.

The show – a spin-off of the long-running US series – aired in late 2019 on BBC Three, where it became a huge success and in the eyes of the BBC, if a show becomes a hit then it really needs to be on BBC One. So, it can now be found on BBC One on Friday nights!

Sharing the news on Twitter, the official RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Twitter account, said: “That’s right, at 23:25 on Fridays you can watch #DragRaceUK on @BBCOne, like it’s the 90s or something.”

Although UK license payers already have access to the show via BBC Three, switching the series to BBC One for this repeat run is an important move. BBC One has a much wider audience than BBC Three, so the move gives the show much more exposure.

So, if you’ve not already dived into Drag Race, now is the time. The first season of Drag Race UK provides the perfect entry point for those unfamiliar with the show… plus, it’s easily one of the best seasons in the history of Drag Race.

Set your videos (or whatever it is that you use to record your TV shows) and get watching.
