You want to watch the latest Batman movie, but you don’t know if there has been a Batman movie in 2019. What do you do?

Well first up, let me tell you now that there have been plenty of Batman movies in 2019. In fact, 2019 has served up a wealth of feature films starring the Caped Crusader!

From animated adventures to a live-action origin story, Batman, his Batfamily, and his greatest enemy, have all popped up in movies this year. But what are they?

Let’s take a look…

Reign of the Supermen (2019)

Kicking things off is Reign of the Supermen – an animated sequel to 2018’s The Death of Superman. This one isn’t technically a Batman film, however the Caped Crusader does appear in the movie (so add it to your list).

Jason O’Mara provides the voice of Batman in Reign of the Supermen.

Next up is another animated adventure and another sequel – The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Released during the first quarter of 2019, this hilarious picture features Batman in a prominent role, even if his name is nowhere in the title!

Justice League vs. the Fatal Five (2019)

In this animated team-up tale, Batman is a member of the Justice League. Here he and the rest of the League must take on a new threat in the shape of the ferocious Fatal Five.

If you are a fan of the Bruce Timm/DC Animated Universe era of Batman (Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League Unlimited etc), then this is a movie for you. The character designs are based on Timm’s work and many of the voice actors from the DCAU reprise their roles for this movie.

Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2019)

The fourth animated Batman movie on this year’s list is Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – a feature-length adaptation of the best-selling comic book series of the same name. In this film, the Caped Crusader and the Turtles team-up to fight the evil Shredder!

Next up is Batman: Hush, yet another animated feature which is based on a best-selling comic book. The film revolves around a mysterious villain, and sees the Caped Crusader have to tackle some of his most famous adversaries.

Yet another animated Batman film, and the second Lego-themed Batman tale for 2019. Lego DC Batman: Family Matters is a direct-to-video feature which focuses on the Bat-family (Batwoman, Robin, Red Hood and Batgirl).

And finally, a live-action movie based around Batman’s most iconic foe. Joker is an origin tale, which peeks behind the make-up of the Clown Prince of Crime.

Here the Joker is played by Joaquin Phoenix.
