Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd is joining the cast of Ghostbusters.

Taking to social media to make the announcement, Sony posted a video of Rudd outside the ‘Hook & Ladder’ building (aka GB HQ) with the caption “Look who accepted the call #GB20”

In the video, Rudd said:

“When I heard that Jason Reitman was going to be doing a new version in the fall, and my agent called him and said ‘hey, Jason’ there’s a part of a young… semi young, strapping man that needs to be cast, who you gonna call?’

He added:

“When I heard they were gonna call me, as you can imagine I nearly slimed myself. I can’t wait to join the cast this fall for Ghostbusters. In fact, I’m sliming myself right now.”

The new movie – a sequel to Ghostbusters/Ghostbusters II – is directed by Jason Reitman. The film will introduce new characters, but original Ghostbusters actors, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd are expected to feature.

Ghostbusters hits cinema screens in 2020.
