Earlier today, Paramount Pictures released a new trailer for forthcoming Stephen King adaptation, Pet Sematary (you can check out the trailer below). The movie is just one of many horror films I’m excited about this year, in what is set to be another great run for the genre.

As with every year, there will be good horror films and there will be bad horror films, but 2019 will be pretty good, right? Especially with movies such as Us – Jordan Peele’s latest horror which looks AWESOME!

Peele’s previous movie, Get Out, was one of the best films of 2017 and Us looks like we’re in for yet another stand-out picture. If you’ve not watched the trailer yet, then check out this short clip below.

Looks pretty creepy, right?

Us arrives in cinemas in March; but before then we’re getting Happy Death Day 2U – the follow-up to Happy Death Day!

Happy Death Day was a surprisingly fun horror movie, which mixed the slasher genre with Groundhog Day. The sequel looks like more of the same.

Happy Death Day 2U arrives in cinemas later this month (just in time for Valentine’s Day).

Happy Death Day 2U is one of my must-see films this year, simply because I had a blast with the original, but I’m also adding Brightburn to my list, because it looks SO GOOD. Check out the trailer below.

A horror take on Superman. What more could anyone ask for?

Hmm… how about a big screen adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark?

And if that’s not enough, then don’t forget that this year also brings the likes of ‘It’: Chapter II, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and Doctor Sleep. No trailers for any of these yet, but expect the publicity machine to rev up pretty soon, especially for ‘It’, which hits cinema screens in September.

Of course, all this is just the tip of the iceberg as there are many, many more horror movies heading our way this year. And that includes monster movies too.

*Cough cough*

As a huge fan of the genre, I’m so excited!
