The Chronicles of Narnia is being developed into a new adaptation.

The new take on the classic C.S. Lewis books will be courtesy of Netflix.

In a statement released by Netflix (via Entertainment Weekly), Douglas Gresham, stepson of C.S. Lewis, said:

“It is wonderful to know that folks from all over are looking forward to seeing more of Narnia, and that the advances in production and distribution technology have made it possible for us to make Narnian adventures come to life all over the world.

“Netflix seems to be the very best medium with which to achieve this aim, and I am looking forward to working with them towards this goal.”

There are seven books in the Narnia series: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; The Silver Chair; The Horse and his Boy; The Magician’s Nephew; and The Final Battle. It has not been confirmed how many of these books will be adapted by Netflix.
