Director Jon Favreau has revealed details about his forthcoming Star Wars TV series.

The show will be called The Mandalorian.

Taking to social media to provide a few details, Favreau posted an ‘opening crawl’-style message, which read:

“The Mandalorian

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order.”

The post continued:

“We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic…”

So, there you go – the new series will focus on a new Mandalorian character, similar to Boba and Jango Fett.

No further details have been released at this time, but The Mandalorian is expected to appear on Disney Play – Disney’s new streaming service. The service launches in 2019.
