A reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is in the works.
Fox is developing a new Buffy show with creator, Joss Whedon serving as an executive producer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Monica Breen will serve as both a writer and showrunner on the project.
No word on who will star. The script calls for a black actress to take on the lead role, originally played by Kristy Swanson in the movie and Sarah Michelle Gellar in the hit TV show.
This new version of Buffy is being dubbed as a contemporary take on the mythology.
