Animated show, Steven Universe has broken new ground, by being the first children’s show to air a same-sex marriage proposal.

In a recent episode, titled The Question the character of Ruby proposed to Sapphire.

She said: “Sapphire, will you marry me?”, before adding “This way we can be together even when we’re apart.”

Of course, Ruby said yes.

Fans of the show then went into a frenzy of positivity over this LGBTQ milestone! Hurrah!

The wedding episodes aired two days later.

Well done Steven Universe and Cartoon Network for making such a positive step forward. No doubt, some people had a problem with it, but who cares what they think?! 🙂
