Loved ’90s TV show, Sliders? Wish it was still on your telly-box?
Well, you might be interested to know that a Sliders revival/reboot is in the pipeline!
Digital Spy recently interviewed former Sliders star, Jerry O’Connell, who played the role of Quinn Mallory on the show. O’Connell had this to say about a revival of the cult sci-fi series:
“The guy who created it – a guy named Tracy Tormé – called me recently and said they were planning on it. I hope he gets it together – I’ll help out any way I can.”
He added: “I mean, there’s no way I’ll be the star… I’m sure I’ll be playing the star’s Dad or something! Or the kid’s grandfather. ‘Back in my day, we knew how to slide… we knew what was what…’
“It’s so funny, when that show ended, you think, ‘Well that’s that. That was that chapter of my life.’ But it’s never over, I guess!”
Created by Robert K. Weiss and Tracy Tormé, Sliders ran for five seasons, from 1995 until 2000, comprising a total of 88 episodes. In the UK it was a tea-time favourite on BBC 2 and also aired on SKY.
