Remember that Silver Sable/Black Cat movie that Sony Pictures has in the works? The film – like Sony’s forthcoming Venom picture – which is a Spider-Man spin-off, only without Spider-Man?
Well… it’s on hold. Or it at least appears to be.
Exhibitor Relations are currently reporting that Sony has taken Silver and Black off its release schedule, with no indication of where it’s gone or when it will reappear.
Via Twitter, Exhibitor Relations, said: “Sony’s SILVER AND BLACK was set for Feb. 8, 2019, but is now listed as the worst date possible… UNDATED.”
There’s currently no word from Sony on what’s happened to Silver and Black, so the studio could just be looking to reshuffle a few films. It’s also possible that Sony has change its mind about pushing forward with the project.
Sorry, was that just wishful thinking on my part?
Prior to today’s news, Gina Prince-Bythewood was lined up to direct Silver and Black, with Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal on board as producers. The film would be a Sony production, so would not be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
