Bill & Ted 3 is confirmed.

Yep – it’s happening!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bill & Ted Face the Music is in the works, with both Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves set to reprise the roles of Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan, respectively.

Bill & Ted creators, Chris Matheson  and Ed Solomon are behind the script, which sees the former Wyld Stallyns dealing with middle age. Dean Parisot is on directing duties.

The movie will be another time travelling adventure, requiring the appearance of some iconic historical figures. According to The Hollywood Reporter “a visitor from the future warns our heroes that only their song can save life as we know it. Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on a time travel adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it.”

Addressing the project, Reeves & Winter said: “We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again.” They added: “Chris and Ed wrote an amazing script, and with Dean at the helm we’ve got a dream team!”

To date there have been two Bill & Ted movies – Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991). The films also spawned a short-lived animated series.

No release date has been set just yet for Bill & Ted Face the Music.
