After an hour and a half of queuing, we finally got our comics (see last post)!
Whoop!
So, this year we were able to choose ten free comics from our local comic book store, as part of Free Comic Book Day. As there were two of us this meant 20 comics in total.
As mentioned in my earlier post, I was on a mission to pick up a couple of comics for other people so once these were taken out of the stack this left us with 13 comics between the two of us – more than enough to choose from.

I’ll publish a round-up of all the comics in a later post – once I’ve had time to read them all – but for now, here’s what I got! Excuse my poor photography skills.
The books I picked up ranged from must-have titles Power Rangers, 2000AD, Spider-Man and The Avengers to fun stuff such as SpongeBob and The Simpsons-centric comic, Bongo Free-For-All.
As you can see in the picture, I also picked up a few titles that perhaps I wouldn’t usually read, but then that’s the fun of Free Comic Book Day – trying out new books!
On a side note, the staff at my local Forbidden Planet were all friendly and helpful as ever and while the queue might have been long, everyone was treated fairly and there was plenty of time allocated to choosing the comics. A busy morning, but a good one.
