With the Disney/Fox takeover looming and the current version of the X-Men movie franchise pretty much likely to end after the release of Deadpool 2 (2018), X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019) and New Mutants (2019), the chance of any more films set within Fox’s X-Universe is slim at best. However, that hasn’t stopped Ryan Reynolds from being hopeful that we’ll see a Deadpool/Wolverine crossover.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Reynolds said: “I think convincing Hugh of that would be a near-impossible feat, but there’s no human being I love more than Hugh Jackman in that universe, and equally so as a friend. He’s just the best. I already miss him as Logan, so I’m one of those guys that whenever I see him, I’m like, ‘Come on, man. Just one more. Come on. We’ll do it together. It’ll be fun. Come on! On three. Here we go, together. One, two, three, together,’ and it’s always just me saying it.”

Now I know what you’re thinking: Logan’s dead, right? Well, Ryan Reynolds doesn’t think a pesky little thing like death will get in the way, because according to the actor “He’s alive and well in my timeline.” He added: “There is a Logan running around out there with a little bushy chest and his little sharpy, sharpy claws, and he is alive and well and ready to go. I would love that.”

As much as I would LOVE to see Deadpool and Wolverine sharing the big screen together in a team-up movie, I think we’ve gone past the point where that’s ever going to happen. I guess we’ll just have to settle for the brief Deadpool/Wolverine scenes we have in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).
