Black Panther has just surpassed Star Wars: The Last Jedi at the box office, to become the ninth highest grossing movie of all-time.

As predicted last week, the movie has climbed up the charts – thanks in part to back-to-back screenings with Avengers: Infinity War – to push past The Last Jedi. The movie currently has a box office take of $1,333,313,349, to The Last Jedi‘s $1,332,416,714.

Moving into ninth position on the all-time highest grossing movie chart is significant because Infinity War will no doubt make its way into the Top Ten, which means one movie will be pushed out in the process. That movie won’t be Black Panther.

Can Black Panther climb further up the chart?

It’s possible.

The eighth position is currently held by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 with an overall take of $1,341,511,219. If Black Panther keeps on pushing forward it could reach this amount before it concludes its run.
