In 2018, the political action thriller, Jack Ryan made its debut on Amazon Prime Video. The series – based on a collection of books by author Tom Clancy – followed the story of a CIA analyst taken from his desk job and placed in the field.

Upon making its debut, the show proved to be a hit with audiences, prompting Amazon to produce further seasons. A television movie was also created, to continue the series.

Understanding Jack Ryan

As noted above, the Jack Ryan television series hit screens in 2018, with John Krasinski taking on the role of former US Marine and Afghanistan veteran, Jack Ryan. The series ran for eight episodes, and after proving to be a hit was quickly followed by second season in 2019, comprising a further eight episodes.

After a short delay, a third season aired in 2022, adding a further eight episodes to the show. A fourth and final season then arrived in 2023, this time comprising six episodes.

After 30 episodes, the Jack Ryan series came to an end, however, this wasn’t the end of the road for the Ryan. In 2026, the story continued via the television movie, Jack Ryan: Ghost War.
