In 1955, actress Shirley MacLaine appeared in the Alfred Hitchcock black comedy, The Trouble with Harry. The movie gave MacLaine the opportunity to play the role of Jennifer Rogers, but more importantly it provided her with a starting point for her film career.
From here, MacLaine then went on to appear in films such as Around the World in 80 Days, The Apartment, and Steel Magnolias. She also played the role of Aurora Greenway in James L. Brooks’ drama-comedy, Terms of Endearment.
