Describing the new movie, Searchlight Pictures said: “Moments after surviving an all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace (Samara Weaving) discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game – and this time with her estranged sister Faith (Kathryn Newton) at her side.

“Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all.”

When Ready or Not 2: Here I Come arrives in movie theatres expect it to be a popular movie with horror fans. The original Ready or Not has built up a considerable fanbase since its release back in 2019, and this sequel is aiming to follow suit.

In the UK, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has been awarded a ‘15’ certificate by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). The movie has received this rating due to “strong bloody violence, gore, threat, drug misuse, (and) very strong language.”

In the UK, a ‘15’ certificate movie is deemed suitable for audiences aged 15 or over. No one under this age will be admitted into a screening of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come in a UK cinema.

As such, the BBFC believe Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is suitable for some teens (those aged 15 or above), but not every teen (those 14 and 13, or anyone below).

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come US age rating

In the US, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has given Ready or Not 2: Here I Come an ‘R’ rating for strong bloody violence, gore, pervasive language and brief drug use.

In the US, an ‘R’ rated movie is classed as ‘restricted’. This means no one under the age of 17 can view an ‘R’ rated movie unless they are accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

The MPAA’s guidance is that ‘R’ rated movies contain some adult material, and parents should learn more about the movie before taking their children with them. However, if a parent is OK with the content of the movie, and they are willing to accompany their children, then young horror fans can watch the film in a US cinema.

So, yes, a teenager can watch an ‘R’ rated movie in a US cinema, as long as they are accompanied. It’s up to the parent or guardian to decide if they should.
