Predator: Badlands director Dan Trachtenberg directs this sci-fi action horror set in the Northern Great Plains during 1719. In Prey, Amber Midthunder stars as a young Comanche who must protect her people from a deadly Predator stalking the land. (99 mins)

Predator: Killer of Killers (2025)

Dan Trachtenberg returns to director duties for this animated anthology movie which pits three heroes from different time periods against the Predator – a Viking from 841, a samurai from 1609, and a World War II pilot from 1942. Predator: Killer of Killers expands the mythology, while offering some interesting opponents. (90 mins)

Alien: Romulus (2024)

Fede Álvarez directs this well-received instalment of the Alien franchise, which takes place between the events of 1979’s Alien and 1986’s Aliens. In Alien: Romulus, a group of young space colonists, including Rain (Cailee Spaeny) and her surrogate android brother, Andy (David Jonsson), cross paths with deadly Xenomorphs. (119 mins)

Pitch Black (2000)

David Twohy presents this relatively small budget sci-fi horror about a small group of space travellers (including a dangerous criminal) who are attacked by creatures when their ship crashes on a desert planet. Vin Diesel plays criminal-turned-hero, Riddick in Pitch Black, in what would become his breakout role. (108 mins)

Kong: Skull Island (2017)

Set during the 1970s, Kong: Skull Island focuses on an expedition to a mysterious creature-filled island, where everything and anything is deadly (including the titular Kong). Jordan Vogt-Roberts directs, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brie Larson star, while the monsters steal the show. (118 mins)

Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025)

And finally, in this sequel-cum-soft-reboot of the Jurassic World franchise, a team of mercenaries head to an island to obtain the DNA of three dinosaurs. What they encounter is a whole cavalcade of deadly dinos in Gareth Edwards’ sci-fi monster adventure. (133 mins)
