In 1961, actress Diane Ladd made her film debut with an uncredited role in the drama movie, Something Wild. From here, another uncredited role followed in 1962, with 40 Pounds of Trouble.
As time moved forward, Ladd began to get bigger screen roles, appearing in films such as The Devil’s Daughter, Chinatown, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. In fact, Ladd became one of the busiest actresses in the business, appearing in film after film, after film, alongside her television work.

As noted above, in addition to Ladd’s extensive film career, she also performed in a number of television shows. Some of the most notable shows included Stanley, Naked City, The Detectives, 77 Sunset Strip, The Fugitive, Shane, Gunsmoke, Ironside, City of Angels, The Love Boat, Father Dowling Investigates, L.A. Law, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Grace Under Fire, ER, Ray Donovan, and Young Sheldon, amongst others.
In addition, Ladd appeared in 23 episodes of Alice playing Belle Dupree; 18 episodes of Enlightened as Helen Jellicoe; and 13 episodes of Kingdom Hospital in the role of Sally Druse. Ladd also played the part of Nell O’Brien opposite Treat Williams and Barbara Niven in 46 episodes of Chesapeake Shores.
