Stalking its way into cinemas this November is the sci-fi action movie, Predator: Badlands. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the film follows the story of a young Predator who teams up with a damaged Weyland-Yutani synth as they embark on the ultimate hunt.
Describing the movie, 20th Century said: “Predator: Badlands, which stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.”
With Dan Trachtenberg’s most recent Predator movies (Prey, Predator: Killer of Killers) proving a hit with fans, Predator: Badlands looks very promising. But when the movie hits cinema screens will it be suitable for all ages, including a teen audience?
Let’s take a look at the age rating to find out.

Predator: Badlands UK age rating

In the UK, Predator: Badlands has been awarded a ‘12A’ certificate by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). The movie has received this certificate for “moderate violence, threat, (and) injury detail.”
In the UK, a ‘12A’ certificate film is deemed suitable for audiences aged 12 or over. However, audiences under the age of 12 can watch a ‘12A’ in cinemas, as long as they are accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.
So, when it comes to the film’s suitability, the BBFC believe Predator: Badlands is most suitable for audiences 12+, but does understand it may be OK for some audiences below this age to watch the movie, so long as parents take responsibility for allowing their child to see the film. As for teen audiences (13+), it is suitable viewing.

Predator: Badlands US age rating

In the US, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has given Predator: Badlands a ‘PG-13’ rating. The film has received this rating for sequences of strong sci-fi violence.
In the US, a ‘PG-13’ rated movie can be watched by any one of any age. However, the MPAA believe some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 13, so parents are strongly cautioned and may want to learn more about the film before their youngest children watch it.
As for teens, the MPAA believe the movie is fine for teenagers. So if you have a teen in your household, they should be fine with Predator: Badlands.
